FAQ

Teeth whitening is safe for most people but is not recommended for:
  • Pregnant or lactating women
  • Children less than 14 years old
  • Patients with known peroxides allergies
  • Patients with high teeth sensitivity
If you have any predisposing conditions which aren’t listed above, please feel free to contact us for more information.
Some people will experience sensitivity during the procedure and it may last up to 24 hours, however there are usually no long-lasting consequences.
Teeth whitening will only work on natural teeth and will not whiten fillings, crowns, veneers, porcelain, or false teeth. You can still whiten your teeth if you have any of the above however, if the colour does not match afterwards, you may need to have the fillings, crowns, veneers, porcelain etc replaced at your own expense.
It is hard to predict how white your teeth will become. The extent of whiteness achieved depends on many factors. The dentist can discuss this with you at the time of the appointment.
It is recommended to go through a ‘lightening procedure’ first to blend the white patches before the teeth whitening procedure. You can still choose to whiten your teeth without this extra procedure however the white patches may appear more apparent.
This depends on your lifestyle and diet. Foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine, smoking etc will cause the teeth to stain faster.
